Recently, I watched the latest pokemon movie Black And White. So on this post you will hear me rant about the new movie.
Do not be fooled by this awesome looking poster.
Now the formalities, this is the 14th pokemon movie and the first movie for the latest season of the Pokemon anime series (Best Wishes) (the Zoroark movie didn't count cause the series is still in Diamond and Pearl) and features Cilan and Iris on their first movie debut. Another thing which gets introduced in this movie is the double movie feature (which doesn't really have any difference anyways) where there is two movies which you can watch, either Black or White. Now some people are confused (including me last time) on how this feature works, whether the movie have different endings or does one movie only features Reshiram without Zekrom or the other way around. And some people who are familiar with Kamen Rider X Kamen Rider Movie Wars movie (like me) may think that you watch both movies (first Black then White)and then in the end the event from both movies are merged together.

All of the above assumptions are WRONG!!
What actually happens is you may choose to either watch one movie or both. Both movies are 95% the same ( i'll explain the differences later ). Both Reshiram and Zekrom appears in both movies (just either one is the bad guy or good guy). Same lame story, same lame bad guy, same lame Ash Ketchup. Did I mention 95% of both movies are the same?
Differences
- Background stuff.
Eg. in Black you see a Mandibuzz flying in the background but in White you see a Braviary. In Black during the intro (the part where the narrator talks about the pokemon world and stuff), Pikachu is fighting a Sawk while in White he is fighting a Throh. During the intro in Black Ash and co turned right at an intersection while in White they turned left (but they arrived at the same place anyways). If you want me to list everything, I wouldn't finish until tomorrow. This is only small and minor differences, you get the point right? Ok next!
-Pokemon.
Eg. In Black the bad guy uses a Reuniclus while in White he uses a Gothitelle. In Black the bad guy has Reshiram on his side and Ash has Zekrom, while in White its the other way around. In Black there is this mother and daughter has a shiny Hydreigon and a normal Golurk while in White they have a Shiny Golurk and a normal Hydreigon.
-Intro scene
In Black the bad guy saves a small village in the desert from a hurricane and a stampede of afro Taurus Bofallant, in White he saves a few village people from a giant iceberg. But both events happens in both movies just that it happened off-screen in the other movie.
Thats it for differences!

Did I mention 95% of the movie is the same?
Actually I don't really care much about those things (just thought that it was a waste of money and time for both the producer and movie watchers). What really was disappointing for me in this movie was the story. It was too- how do you say this- bland. I felt nothing (story-wise). Really. The bad guy sucks. I don't even think he should be called a bad guy. He is too not evil. Victini's story, nah. At least he isn't stuck in a cane for hundreds of years, or shunned by every living things because they're afraid of him. Then the characters.. I- I just don't know what to say about them...

Then I thought, was every other pokemon movie like this? NO. The movies before this was TEN times better and some even more. So why does this one sucks? why? WHY?
Well truth be told, I don't hate the movie 100% there are some parts which I like. One thing for all the pokemon movies (and the anime) we can see pokemon moves and actions which is very limited in the game. The battles (though Ash always wins) is not as monotonous as the game and you can really see how the pokemons move and attack.

Another thing is of course POKEMON! If you don't have any interest in pokemons, you wouldn't even think of watching the movie. Heck, you wouldn't even care about reading this! The one reason that I put up Ash and watches Pokemon Movies (not the anime though, i'll never watch that![I hope]) This movie also features Zekrom and Reshiram my new favorite legendary which kicks Palkia and Dialga's ASS! (they even have GN drives! how much badass can they be?)

Another thing that I like about the movie is- the- erm.. I think that's it..
Well people overall, I'll give the movie 65 % out of 1000000000 100%.. just because Reshiram and Zekrom is in it. Its not that bad but because of the previous movies performance, this movie became a let down. Well some people may say that this movie is for kids and the story was made so they could understand but then why did the previous movie had a much better story and the kids also understands it? Then again this is only my opinion on the subject. As they say "different people, different thoughts".
What I hope is that the next movie is much more awesome and has a much better story than this one.
